Shirley Snyder, SRA: On The Cutting Edge of Appraisal Technology
At Shirley Snyder, SRA, technology is the name of the game. We do our best to make appraising look easy and we think a lot of it is our ability to understand how to use the newest gadgets. From smart phones, to laptops, GPS, you name it. Call us geeks. Call us nerds. Call us what you will, but by all means, call us at (760) 724-3636 for appraisal orders in San Diego County! Why? We're glad you asked.
The appraisal process has rapidly evolved in recent years and demands more than ever from appraisers. We offer the highest quality appraisals, and cutting corners has never been an option for us. Therefore, the logical place to save time is in our daily workflow. The appraisers that have continually invested in new technology have been the ones able to use their time more effectively and bring their customers more accurate reports, better customer service and faster turnaround times.
Let Shirley Snyder, SRA show you how we innovate ordering appraisals
In the past, a lot of our orders were delivered via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we got back to the office. It might be hours before a client even knew if we could do the order. Things are quite a bit different now and when an order is placed on the site, we get an e-mail on our phones. We often log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.
At Shirley Snyder, SRA we understand it's all about "cycle time". We aim to reduce waiting between communications since the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. Through features on this website, we can actually speed up the entire appraisal process.
Shirley Snyder, SRA believes in working smarter
The appraisal process is nothing if not a data intensive activity. We spend a lot of our time collecting the facts on the subject property and the local market data and trends. Once again, technology has stepped in to help Shirley Snyder, SRA.
We've learned that taking notes traditionally, using pencil and paper, generally takes longer since we we have to enter everything back in at the office. Don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using a program developed for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on site. Rather than using that clumsy old tape measure, we're seeing that more appraisers are beginning to use laser measuring devices that are quicker, more accurate, and can get into places that normal tape measures have always had problems with.
All of this technology ensures that the final report is as thorough and accurate as possible. This works to both our advantages by necessitating less time for call-backs and revisions. A real money saver for busy appraisal clients.
Here at Shirley Snyder, SRA we make sure you have more options to receive your report.
Delivery of appraisals as PDF files through e-mail is definitely the standard these days. Most of our clients prefer e-mail because we're all accustomed to getting attachments like PDFs in our mail. It's much more efficient than the old days before e-mail. But, we've even been able to innovate how you receive your report with this website.
Ever lost a file that was sent to you? Or have you ever had problems sending or receiving an e-mail because it was too big? We have the technology to overcome those problems, too. When we deliver an appraisal through this website, the client gets a link sent to their email to retrieve the PDF. So, at that point, it doesn't matter if all the extra photos and maps in the report result in a large file that would normally be blocked by e-mail. And the download link is good for 90 days. So if anything happens to the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again - saving you time, since we won't even need to run back to the computer.
Shirley Snyder, SRA makes things easier by using Digital Workfiles
It would probably be easier if appraisers could complete a report, give it to the client and never worry about revisiting that document again. However, appraisals are employed to show the condition of a property on the inspection date. Therefore, appraisers must keep their reports for 5 years in case any disputes or other matters arise regarding the property.
To sum it all up, Shirley Snyder, SRA leverages our experience with technology to improve service. We store every part of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we skip the outdated file cabinets and only need our computer to recall just what that assignment was about.
We just wanted to give you a little bit of insight into how we use our technology daily. Utilizing the right software, services, gadgets and gizmos allows the appraiser to deliver reports quicker, more efficiently and with higher degrees of accuracy.
